Spokane Fall Festival of Homes

Explore the largest new construction show in the Inland Northwest”

A group of friends visited many of the Festival Homes in the Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake last weekend.  While we were not able to see them all, we really enjoyed looking at the architecture, design, and decoration of the homes.  I always enjoy finding out what’s new in the building industry and what is popular with cabinetry, furniture, and lighting.

Here are just a few of the photos from the limited homes that we visited.  These were all (casually) taken on a tripod using only ambient light with a Canon 5D MkIII and a 17mm Tilt-Shift lens. Enjoy!

SYP event at Union Gospel Mission

The Spokane Young Professionals partnered with the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane to hold a volunteer event at the Men’s Mission.  UGM has a program where they give a small gift to donors who make a large contribution as a way to say thank you.  One of the ways they do this is to give a jar of fixings that can be mixed together to make Chili.  They were running low on these chili kits so SYP worked together to do a craft night and make more for the Mission’s donors.  Everyone had a great time!

SYP at the new David’s Pizza

I have the privilege of sitting on the board for the Spokane Young Professionals group.  Naturally I also like to take photos at the events as well.  Here are the images from the latest event here in Spokane.  The new David’s Pizza near the Spokane Arena offered to host us, and their new location is awesome for an event like this.  There was plenty of light from the large west facing windows, the food was great, and the beer was cold.  Looks like everyone here had a great time!

From the SYP website: The Spokane Young Professionals group seeks to connect the next generation of leaders by providing an atmosphere where individuals can network with one another. By building an encouraging environment for young professionals, SYP hopes to keep young talent in the Spokane area.

Rolls Royce Phantom Aviator Coupé

This very rare Rolls Royce Phantom Aviator Edition is was for sale in Reno Nevada (it appears to have sold)  Only 35 of them were made in 2013 and all are this silver and grey color combination.  If you look closely, the hood and windshield (including the triangular side windows) resemble the cockpit of an airplane, and the gauges are modeled after those in aviation, with orange tips on the dial pins.  The ceiling of the car lights up with thousands of “stars” at night.  This car is the ultimate luxury automobile.

From TopSpeed.com
Built as a celebratory model to company’s co-founder Charles Stewart Rolls and the 1930s Supermarine S6B racing seaplane, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Edition comes with a unique Aviator Grey paint finish that’s contrasted by a matte bonnet, a matte window, matte grill surrounds, and plenty of airplane inspirations.

Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös explained the rationale behind building the limited edition Phantom Coupe. “Our founding forefather Charles Stewart Rolls was a pioneer who pushed the boundaries of motoring and aviation to the limit,”

“With our exclusive Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection we celebrate this great British hero, presenting a car which hints at experiments in early flight married to the best engineering, modern design and exquisitely crafted materials.”

(post updated to reflect sale of automobile)
